RoHS and WEEE Implementation

RoHS Compliant to Address Hazardous Substances Directives

Recognizing the need to provide environmentally-sound products and to meet regulatory guidelines around the world, Interphase launched an aggressive RoHS (Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) implementation program to provide our customers with compliant product in response to concerns about the environmental impact of chemicals like lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. Understanding the need to provide products early in the cycle so our customers can incorporate into their designs before the stated deadlines, Interphase shipped its first RoHS-compliant product in April 2005 - a year and a few months ahead of the European Union directive. The company's aggressive timetable enabled Interphase to be one of the first to offer a RoHS-compliant portfolio, working closely with customers to deliver products that are either fully compliant or have a customized compliance based on telecommunications exemptions in order to meet and/or exceed the environmental regulation requirements of our customers and the countries that are driving these initiatives.

Interphase respects our Customer's commitment to these directives and supports the overall directives and the positive impact they will make to our environment. It is our intention to meet and or exceed the environmental regulation requirements of our customers and the countries that are driving these initiatives.
